Thomas Reuter (basketball player)

Thomas Reuter (born January 25,  1992 in Hagen ) is a German basketball player . The 1.98 meter long winger is currently part of the Paderborn Baskets squad .

career

Reuter played in the youth of TuS Breckerfeld, with Brandt Hagen and BBV Hagen. For the latter club he also gained his first experience in the men's area in the regional league. From 2010 to 2012 he played  five games in the basketball league for Phoenix Hagen , while thanks to a "double license" he played mainly for BSV Wulfen  in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB  .

From 2012 to 2014 Reuter studied and played at Eastern Washington University  in the United States . He came to 59 missions for "EMU" and scored an average of 3.9 points per match.

After returning to his home country, Reuter played for Iserlohn Kangaroos  in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB from 2014 to 2017 , and in the run-up to the 2017/18 season he switched to ProB-promoted Schwelmer Baskets . There he was made team captain in his first year. In the summer break of 2019 he moved to the Paderborn Baskets in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . He played in 26 second division games in Paderborn and scored 4.1 points per encounter. In 2020 he was signed by the third division UBC Münster .

National team

Reuter made international appearances for the German national teams in the age groups U16 and U18. In spring 2010 he took part in the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the U18s  .
