Thomas Rothfuß

Thomas Rothfuß (born March 21, 1956 in Bretten ) is a German singer , author , composer , lyricist and entertainer .

Rothfuss grew up with an older brother and a younger sister in Bretten and trained as a draftsman .

He played in several school bands and later formed the singing duo "Thomas & Thomas" with his friend Thomas Urban. In 1987 Rothfuß and Urban won the SWF competition Stars von Morgen and received the golden tuning fork in the ARD broadcast Tag des Deutschen Schlers with Dieter Thomas Heck . A year later they reached the final of the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 with the title "You can never dream too much". Then the duo broke up due to professional changes.

In 1990, Rothfuß co-founded the music group Die Schäfer , with whom he released numerous albums and appeared regularly on various television programs. After 10 years he stopped working with the group, started a solo career and has since released several albums.

His particular fondness for the music of the 1970s prompted him to found the vocal duo message blue in 2003 , which has a repertoire consisting of songs by u. a. John Denver , Simon & Garfunkel , the Beatles and Don McLean perform. In addition, Rothfuß also acts as an entertainer on cruise ships.

Rothfuß 'great role model is Heinz Erhardt , in whose honor he also developed a stage program. He has published three books in this style and is also the author of poems and stories from life.

He lives in the Baden forest , is married and has two children.
