Thomas Sixt (born March 17, 1975 in Plattling ) is a German cook , certified nutrition trainer, author of cookbooks, publisher of cooking apps and digital publications, food photographer and entrepreneur.

Life

Thomas Sixt completed his apprenticeship as a chef in 1992 with Alfons Schuhbeck in the Kurhausstüberl in Waging am See. Among other things, he worked in the Tantris restaurant in Munich and the Heinz Winkler residence in Aschau im Chiemgau. He has completed his training as a certified nutrition trainer.

Sixt has been offering private cooking courses and cooking events since 1998. He then cooked in more than 700 cooking events and courses for bulthaup, Miele, gorenje and Küppersbusch with over 12,000 customers. National and international press reports on his work, including Bild am Sonntag and Marie Claire. In 2009 he cooked for the German TV award Bambi . For the magazine "Lust auf Genuss" he cooked with Ulrike Kriener and Ruth Moschner as part of their cooking show on Bild.de.

As a nutrition trainer, he has specialized in gluten-free diets and offers cooking courses, advice and seminars on this topic. In 2010, Sixt started its own cooking program, Headcam Cooking, on YouTube. He wears a camera on his head that shows the preparation of the recipes from the cook's perspective. The cooking format made it onto television in April 2013. Thanks to the Headcam Cooking he developed, he is perceived in the media as "the cook with the camera on his head". He has been running an advertising agency in Vienna since 2010 .

Sixt's work as a television chef began in 1999 with several guest appearances on the RTL show Punkt 12 . This was followed by sporadic appearances as a cooking expert in various programs, including on tm3 and RTL in Extra .

Headcam cooking with Thomas Sixt was presented for the first time in April 2013 on W24 in the program "Mehr vom Leben"; since the end of April it has been broadcast several times a week as an independent program.

Publications

In 2005 his first cookbook was published, Der Minuteenkoch: schmeckt.schneller . For the Mary Hahn book series he wrote meat dishes: basic recipes and variations and took photos for soups & stews: basic recipes and variations . In 2013, Thomas Sixt followed suit . He arranges and photographs his dishes himself for his books and publications.

He publishes his own cooking apps for all devices and iPad cookbooks under the name Thomas Sixt Publishing .

Sixt has published a monthly culinary column in the Austrian magazine Gesünder Leben since February 2012.
