Thomas Walter Maria (* 1971 ) is a German saxophonist, composer, arranger and singer.

Live and act

Maria studied music at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig and continued his studies from 1997 to 1998 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 1998 he released a live CD with The Brazilian Groove Connection . He has been working in Berlin since 1999, where he plays in the Berlin Jazz Orchestra and Papa Binne's Jazz Band , among others . He was also heard in the Canary Islands with Vrandán and Alexander Sputh . In 2014 he founded his own formation Thomas Walter Maria & Kapelle . He also works as a lecturer for saxophone / clarinet / flute at the Georg Philipp Telemann Conservatory in Magdeburg. He is also the initiator and artistic director of the “Werder klingt” music festival in Werder (Havel), which will celebrate its premiere in March 2017.
