Life

In his early youth, Eikelmann received piano lessons from the music teacher Elisabeth Schimpff. After high school graduation (1987) and Bundeswehr (1987/88), Eikelmann entered the jazz scene in 1989, in New Orleans he gained jam session experience with Chris Burke , Wendell Eugene , Ron Simmons and the Olympia Brass Band .

Back in Germany in 1989 he founded his first jazz group, the Bear County Jazz Band , the forerunner of the Dixie Slickers . His still existing jazz band Lutzemanns Jatzkapelle has existed since 1993 .
