Thomas Ziolko

Thomas Ziolko (born April 28, 1972 in Berlin ) is a Berlin politician ( CDU ).

Thomas Ziolko lives in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg , in the district of Karlshorst . He experienced his childhood in Lichtenberg and attended school there from 1978 to 1988. After graduating from school, he completed an apprenticeship as a chef in the Café Moscow restaurant . After the fall of the Berlin Wall , he completed a commercial apprenticeship at the German Institute for Economic Research and then passed the technical diploma in business. He later studied business administration and administrative sciences at the Berlin University of Technology and Economics .

Political career

Thomas Ziolko has been active in the CDU since 1990 and is involved in local politics in Berlin . From 1991 to 1996 he was chairman of the Junge Union Lichtenberg. He also took on various mandates for the CDU: 1992 to 1995 district councilor, 1995 to 1999 member of the Berlin House of Representatives and from 2001 to 2004 parliamentary group leader of the CDU-Lichtenberg. In 2005 he changed the district association and became a member of the CDU Wuhletal in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district , where he was an active member of the district and local councils of the CDU Biesdorf .

Volunteering

In addition to his professional activity and his political commitment, Ziolko has always volunteered in various areas . He has been very committed to the two zoological institutions in the German capital since 2004. Here his passion is the preservation and promotion of the Berlin Zoo and the Berlin Zoological Garden . He is a founding member of the Friends and Patrons of Schloss Friedrichsfelde e. V. , member of the Lichtenberger Bibliotheken e. V. , the Unionhilfswerk and since 2004 chairman of the community of sponsors of Tierpark Berlin and Zoological Garden Berlin e. V. Since May 2008, Ziolko has also been a member of the Presidium of the Association of German Zoo Supporters, the umbrella association for supporters of zoological institutions in Germany.
