Thomas by Albertini
Thomas von Albertini (born July 14, 1829 in Horn , † June 26, 1921 in La Punt-Chamues-ch ), entitled to live in La Punt-Chamues-ch, was a Swiss politician (FDP-Liberal) .
Life
Family and work
The reformed baptized Thomas Albertini, scion of the since 1478 in La Punt-Chamues-ch-documented family of Albertini , son of the landowner and Landamman Jakob von Albertini , completed after obtaining the baccalaureate studying law at the universities of Munich , Göttingen , Heidelberg and Paris . Thomas von Albertini then lived as a wealthy landowner in La Punt.
Thomas von Albertini was married to Margreth von Albertini in his first marriage and to Eva Luisa von Albertini in his second marriage. He died in the summer of 1921 just before the age of 92.
Political career
The liberal Thomas von Albertini, acting Mayor of the Upper Engadin , was elected to the Grisons Grand Council at the age of 24 in 1853 , to which he then belonged until 1855, from 1861 to 1868, 1871 to 1875 and 1879 to 1893. In addition, von Albertini held the office of professional president in the election year 1880. Thomas von Albertini was also represented on the Small Council between 1869 and 1870 . In the parliamentary elections in 1893 he was elected to the National Council , to which he belonged as a member of the liberal center until 1899.
Thomas von Albertini was a member of the professional ethics committee from 1871 to 1875, in 1880 and between 1882 and 1883. From 1882 to 1899 he held the office of cantonal judge.
Thomas von Albertini, one of the leading liberal minds after 1870, supporter of the federal revision from 1872 to 1874, appeared in particular as the main promoter of the roads over the Albula Pass and in the lower Engadine . He was one of the first Graubünden politicians to push feeder lines instead of an Eastern Alpine Railway, with the aim of improving internal transport links for agriculture and tourism.
