Thorsten Lorenz

Thorsten Lorenz (born March 15, 1954 in Heidelberg ) is professor of media education at the PH Heidelberg and head of the Audiovisual Media Center there, as well as a high school teacher in the subjects of German , mathematics , philosophy and musicology and also producer, director, author, moderator, editor of various TV and radio channels.

biography

Thorsten Lorenz studied the above Subjects at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg im Breisgau , where he passed his first state examination from 1976–1977. Until 1985 he then worked as a research assistant at the comprehensive university in Essen in the German department. In 1985 he obtained his doctorate in German (literature) at the University of Freiburg with the grade " summa cum laude ". In the following years he worked at Südwestfunk Baden-Baden in the television education program as an editor, screenwriter, director and presenter in the programs Telekolleg Deutsch, Schulfernsehen Musik, Schulfernsehen Geschichte und Schulfernsehen Recht, until he worked as a freelance writer and director at ARD and ZDF in 1990 , Moderator could act. Among other things, he moderated the culture magazine "BIZZ" and the "Kulturreport". In 1992 he returned to Südwestfunk as an editor for music and from 1994 as a senior editor for music. In 1996 he received a C4 professorship for media education at the PH in Heidelberg, where he has headed the Audiovisual Media Center since 2000. Since 2002 he has also been a member of the jury for the Rolf-Hans Müller Prize for Film Music .
