Thorsten Schriever

Thorsten Schriever (born March 7, 1976 in Otterndorf ) is a German football referee .

Thorsten Schriever belongs to TSV Otterndorf from 1862. From 2000 to 2002 he was the first DFB referee; from 2003 to 2016 he whistled games in the 2nd Bundesliga . He ended his DFB referee career in summer 2016.

Schriever is an administrative clerk and lives in Dorum near Cuxhaven .

Schriever gained involuntary notoriety on March 20, 2004 at the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt , where he was the fourth official on the sidelines. After being sent off against his player Henning Bürger , the Frankfurt coach Willi Reimann lost his temper and was violent towards Schriever, who wanted to prevent him from running onto the pitch. As the first coach to suffer such a derailment in German professional football, Reimann was later suspended for five games.
