Three Coins in the Fountain is a song composed by Jule Styne in 1953 . The text is by Sammy Cahn . The song was used as a movie song in the movie Three Coins in the Fountain . At first there was only a demo recording of a record with Frank Sinatra . The title will ultimately be produced for the film with the group The Four Aces and the Jack Pleis Orchestra . At the Academy Awards in 1955 , the song won the Oscar in the Best Song category .

A recording by Frank Sinatra reached number one on the UK charts. One version of The Four Aces reached number two on the US charts.
