The Thui II is one of the highest mountains in the Hinduraj Mountains .
location
The Thui II is located on a northern branch of the main ridge of the northern Hinduraj. It is located on the district boundary of Chitral and Ghizer . The 6523 m high mountain is flanked in the west by the Risht Glacier and in the east by the Ponarillo Glacier . Both glaciers flow north to the Yarkhun . The Thui I is 10 km further east.
Ascent history
The first ascent of Thui II, the Hinduraj's highest unclimbed peak at the time, was achieved by a group of three British mountaineers (Nick Tritton, Chris Griffiths, Chris Lloyd) in the summer of 1978. The ascent route led from the south from the point where Aghost-Bar- and Meet the Qalandar Gum glacier, over a 6000 m high neighboring summit to the southeast ridge of Thui II and on to the summit.
