Thymus antoninae is a plant type from the genus of thyme ( Thymus ) in the family of Labiatae .

description

Thymus antoninae is a 10 to 15 cm high dwarf shrub with upright to upright woody stems . The leaves are 5 to 8 mm long and 0.5 mm wide. They are linear, hairy with fine felting and only sparsely ciliated at the base. The leaf margin is rolled back.

The inflorescences are not clearly pronounced, the false whorls consist of only two flowers . The bracts resemble the foliage leaves. The calyx is 5 to 7 mm long, the calyx tube is cylindrical, the upper teeth are narrowly lanceolate. The crown is 8 to 12 mm long and colored purple. The corolla tube is cylindrical.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 28 or 56.

Occurrence

The species is endemic in southeastern Spain , it occurs exclusively in the provinces of Albacete and Murcia .

Within the genus of the thyme ( thymus ), the species is classified in the subsection Anomalae of the section Pseudothymbra .
