Tiberiu Olah

Tiberiu Olah (born January 2, 1928 in Arpăşel , Bihor County ; † October 2, 2002 in Târgu Mureş , Mureş County ) was a Romanian composer .

Life

Olah studied from 1946 at the Conservatory of Cluj and from 1949 to 1954 at the Moscow Conservatory . He worked since 1958 as a lecturer and later a professor at the Conservatory of Bucharest .

He composed orchestral and chamber music works in which he initially oriented himself towards Béla Bartók , George Enescu and Igor Stravinski , later on the Second Vienna School , including a five-part cycle dedicated to the sculptor Constantin Brâncuși , as well as cantatas , an oratorio , choir and film music.
