The Tichaja Sosna ( Russian Ти́хая Сосна́ ) is a right tributary of the Don in the Russian oblasts of Belgorod and Voronezh .
The Tichaja Sosna rises on the Central Russian Plate in the Belgorod Oblast. It flows in an east-northeast direction into the Voronezh Oblast and flows into the Don on the right after 161 km. The Tichaja Sosna drains an area of 4350 km². The river is primarily fed by the snowmelt . In March and April, the Tichaja Sosna floods every year . The mean discharge (MQ) 87 km above the mouth is 5.9 m³ / s. The largest discharges are at 590 m³ / s, while the lowest are 0.02 m³ / s. The cities of Alexejewka , Ostrogoschsk and Birjutsch lie on the river .
