The Tielenau is a left tributary of the Eider , a small meadow river that measures around 23 kilometers from its source in the Welmbüttel district forest to its confluence with the Eider. At the mouth stood the Tielenburg , which was razed after the battle at Hemmingstedt was won in 1500 and can no longer be seen today.
