Tiffany Pollard (born January 6, 1982 in Utica , New York ), better known as New York , is an American actress. In Germany she became known through her appearances on the MTV program Flavor of Love , I Love New York , as well as New York Goes to Hollywood and New York Goes to Work . She got her stage name New York from the first series mentioned by the rapper Flavor Flav .

Life

Pollard was born in Utica , New York to Michele Rothschild-Patterson and Alex Pollard. She attended John F. Kennedy Middle School and graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School .

Career

In the United States, Pollard became known for her appearance in the series Flavor of Love , in which she vied for the favor of the former public enemy rapper Flavor Flav along with 19 other women . There she often argued with the other participants and caused a stir. An incident in which the candidate Brooke Thompson spat in Pollard's face caused a lot of media controversy. Pollard reached the finals with fellow campaigner Nicole Alexander , who was ultimately chosen by Flavor Flav.

In the second season of the series, Pollard got another chance to win the rapper for himself. Again she reached the final, but lost there to Chandra Davis and verbally attacked Flavor Flav. In a "Reunion" show that aired at the end of the season, she decided to stay friends with him.

In October 2006, Pollard announced her plans for her own television show called I Love New York , which aired January 8, 2007 in the United States and December 2, 2007 in Germany. The show followed the concept from Flavor of Love , 20 men should compete for Pollard's favor.
