Tim Cook (born March 13, 1984 in Montclair , New Jersey ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League since 2009 .

Career

Tim Cook began his career as a hockey player in the junior league United States Hockey League , in which he was active from 2001 to 2003 for the Omaha Lancers and River City Lancers. In the 2003 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected in the fifth round as a total of 142nd player by the Ottawa Senators , for which he never played. Instead, the defender attended the University of Michigan for four years and played with their team in the CCHA . With his team he won the championship of the CCHA in 2004 and 2005.

Cook made his professional ice hockey debut in the 2007-08 season when he played for the Texas Wildcatters in the ECHL . The following season he started at Totempo HvIK in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen and finished it at the Florida Everblades in the ECHL. Since the 2009/10 season he has been under contract with the Belfast Giants from the Elite Ice Hockey League .
