Tim Declercq (born March 21, 1989 in Leuven ) is a Belgian racing cyclist .

Career

As a junior rider, Declercq won a stage of the Münsterland Tour in 2007.

In 2010 he was sixth in the U23 edition of the classic Paris – Roubaix . The next year Declercq won the Belgian U23 championship in road racing .

From 2012 to 2016 Declercq drove for the Belgian professional Continental Team Topsport Vlaanderen . During this time he was able to win the one-day race Internationale Wielertrofee Jong Maar Moedig in 2012 and 2013 .

Subsequently, he moved Declercq to the UCI WorldTeam Quick-Step Floors and developed into one of the most valued helpers in road cycling , who was voted the best domestics by his colleagues in a survey on the internet portal cyclingnews.com . He is nicknamed El Tractor because of his hardness at speed . His best individual results include fifth place at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2020.

Tim Declercq is the son of cabaret artist Karel Declercq .
