Tim Jackson (athlete)

Timothy David "Tim" Jackson (born July 4, 1969 in Sydney , Australia ) is a former Australian sprinter who specialized in the 100-meter run and made an international appearance above all as a relay runner.

In 1990 he became the Australian champion in the 100-meter run. At the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart , he finished fifth with the Australian 4 x 100 meter relay . The greatest success of his career he achieved two years later at the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 . During the season he won the silver medal with Paul Henderson , Steve Brimacombe and Damien Marsh in 38.50 seconds behind Canada (38.31 seconds) and ahead of Italy (39.07 seconds). The day before, the Australian quartet had set an Oceania record in the semifinals with a time of 38.17 s.

Jackson took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , but missed the season finals due to a mistake.

Tim Jackson is 1.85 m and had a competition weight of 80 kg.
