Tim Marshall (born May 1, 1959 in Leeds , England , United Kingdom ) is a British journalist and author. As a foreign policy expert , he worked for Sky News and the BBC .

life and work

Marshall worked for the BBC as a foreign correspondent . As part of this activity, he traveled to 30 countries and reported on political topics from there. These countries included the crisis areas of Israel , Kosovo , Syria and Afghanistan .

Tim Marshall runs the Foreign Matters blog , where he reports on foreign policy issues. The blog was nominated for the Orwell Prize 2016.

Marshall has written for The Times , The Sunday Times , The Guardian , Independent, and Daily Telegraph .

His 2015 book Prisoners of Geography was his biggest hit to date. In addition to the English original edition, editions have appeared in Germany, the USA, Taiwan, Japan and Turkey. In Great Britain the book reached number 1 on the Sunday Times bestseller list, in Germany under the title Die Macht der Geographie it was number 7 on the Spiegel bestseller list.
