The Timbarra River , also Rocky River , is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of New South Wales .

geography

The river rises eight kilometers southwest of the small town of Glen Elgin on the Gwydir Highway and flows northeast. Two kilometers south of the small town of Tabulam on the Bruxner Highway it flows into the Clarence River .

In its upper reaches it flows through the southern part of the Washpool National Park and in the middle reaches the Timbarra National Park in the southeast.
