Time Freak is an American short film directed by Andrew Bowler in 2011. The film was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 for Best Short Film.

Stillman and Evan are roommates, but Stillman hasn't been home for three days, so Evan looks for him in his lab. Stillman just finished a time machine he was working on, but the time machine is acting weird. It turns out he was repeating the previous day's events to perfect his behavior towards a woman and in a laundry .

Andrew Bowler and Gigi Causey decided to produce the film after they got married. They used 25,000 US dollars , which they had actually saved to buy an apartment in New York. The film was rejected by several film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival , the Telluride Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival . However, submission to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences resulted in a 2012 Oscar nomination.
Remake
Andrew Bowler filmed the idea again in feature length. The implementation with Sophie Turner and Asa Butterfield in the leading roles appeared in Germany in 2018 under the title Back to you - A second chance for love .
