Timm Kunstreich

Timm Kunstreich (* 1944 ) is a German social work scientist .

Life

Kunstreich studied sociology , social history , education and political economy . He received his doctorate in 1975 from the University of Hamburg . Afterwards, Kunstreich worked as a student adviser at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences . In 1984 he moved to the University of Hamburg as a research assistant in the advanced and contact course in criminology . Two years later, Kunstreich took over the management of socio-educational training and advanced training at the Office for Youth of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Since 1978 he has also been a lecturer at the Evangelical University for Social Work & Diakonie in Hamburg . In 1992, Kunstreich was appointed professor in church service and gave up his work at the Office for Youth. In 2009 he retired.

His main focus is the past and present of professional social work . Kunstreich polarizes with his often Marxist- oriented scientific theses that stand in contrast to the mainstream of social work science .

Kunstreich worked in the socialist office .

Kunstreich is a co-founder and author of the socialist journal contradictions , he is part of its editorial team. He is committed to the party Die Linke without being a member.

After the death of Lieselotte Pongratz , Kunstreich was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lieselotte Pongratz Foundation in 2001.
