Timothy Akwesi "Tim" Abeyie (born November 7, 1982 , Westminster , London ) is a former British- born Ghanaian athlete who specializes in the 200m course and competes for Ghana .

He participated in the World Indoor Championships in 2004 , the World Indoor Championships in 2006 and the European Championships in 2006 in part without reaching the final. At the Summer Universiade 2005 he won a silver medal in the 4x100 meter relay .

His personal best is 20.57 seconds and was achieved in July 2008 in Eton , Berkshire .

Abeyie, who previously represented Great Britain and Wales in competitions at the Commonwealth level, has been authorized to represent Ghana since June 2011 .

Abeyie tested positive for doping during a competition in Kaiserslautern on July 4, 2015 . On December 12, 2016, he was given a four-year non-competition clause, which was applied retrospectively. Its ban was in effect from July 17, 2015 to July 16, 2019.
