Timuçin Aşcıgil (born January 11, 1986 in Izmir ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

Aşcıgil was born in Izmir 's Bornova district and started playing club football here in the youth team of Karşıyaka SK .

In 2005 he moved to the fourth division Aliağa SK with a professional contract . Here he quickly became part of the 1st team. A season later he moved back to Karşıyaka. The first season he was loaned to Muğlaspor and Altınordu Izmir for half a season each . From summer 2007 he played for Karşıyaka for three seasons.

From the summer of 2010 he played for one season each in a row with Adana Demirspor , Akhisar Belediyespor and Altınordu Izmir .

For the second half of the 2011/12 season, his move to Istanbul's second division club Kartalspor was announced. After this club had missed relegation in the TFF 1st Lig at the end of the season , Aşcıgil moved to the third division Alanyaspor . At this club, he immediately established himself as a regular player and service provider and contributed to the fact that the club ended the third division season 2013/14 as a play-off winner and returned to the TFF 1st Lig after 18 years. Also in this league, Aşcıgil kept his regular place and reached the play-offs of the league twice in a row with his team. After his team was eliminated in the semi-finals in the play-offs of the 2014/15 season, they reached the final in the 2015/16 season. In the play-off final, the team prevailed against Adana Demirspor and rose to the Süper Lig for the first time in its history . Although Aşcıgil was used during this time with a few exceptions in almost all league games, he was no longer considered in the squad planning after the first division promotion. Without having played a competitive game in the 2016/17 season, he moved to second division Adana Demirspor in January 2017.
