Tin Machine was a rock band and consisted of David Bowie ( vocals , guitar ), Reeves Gabrels (guitar) and the brothers Hunt Sales ( drums , vocals) and Tony Sales ( electric bass , vocals).

Band history

The band was formed in early 1989. Their debut album Tin Machine reached position 3 in the UK , 28 in the US , 13 in DE and 19 in AT. However, their second studio album Tin Machine II achieved only moderate success (23 in UK, 126 in US and 25th place in AT). However, the single You Belong in Rock N 'Roll made it to number 33 in the UK.

Their live album Live - Oy Vey, Baby was a failure, and plans for a second live album to be called Use Your Wallet were put aside. The name for the live album was derived from a play on words with the successful album Achtung Baby by U2 . That idea came from Hunt Sales. When David Bowie started working on his solo album Black Tie, White Noise in 1992 , the band ceased to exist.
