Tina Hirsch
Tina Hirsch (* 1943 in New York City , New York , United States ) is an American film editor .
Life
Tina Hirsch's career in the film business began with an appearance as an actress in the film Greetings , directed by Brian De Palma . The following year she worked as an editor for the first time and was involved in the film Utterly Without Redeeming Social Value . Since the mid-1990s she has mainly worked for television productions.
In 1987 she directed the horror film The Munchies, her only film to date as a director.
In July 2000, she was elected the first female president of the American Cinema Editors . She currently sits on the organization's board of directors. In 2020 she received the ACE Career Achievement Award for her work .
She received an Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors in 2001 for her contribution to editing the television series The West Wing .
Hirsch has been an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts since 2003.
