Tira ( Hebrew טירה, Arabic الطيرة at-Tīra , DMG aṭ-Ṭīra ) is a city in Israel .
It is located about twelve kilometers southeast of Netanya and eight kilometers northeast of Kfar Saba. In 2018, Tira had 26,162 inhabitants. The city is located in the so-called Meshullash , a region in which Arab Israelis make up the majority of the population. Tira received city status in 1991.
A town partnership exists with the German city of Burg in Saxony-Anhalt .
