Tito Edralin Pasco
Tito Edralin Pasco y Esquillo (born January 4, 1930 in Balasan ; † November 11, 2008 ) was a Metropolitan (Obíspo Máximo) of the Independent Philippine Church (Iglesia Filipina Independente) .
biography
The son of a farming family began to study theology under difficult conditions after the end of the Second World War . On May 24, 1957, he was ordained a priest of the Independent Philippine Church (Iglesia Filipina Independente) , which was founded in 1902 by Gregorio Aglipay .
He was ordained bishop on March 31, 1964 and as such took part in the 1986 International Congress of the Old Catholic Church in Münster . As a strong promoter of the Ecumenical Movement , he was also a member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches .
In 1989 he succeeded Solimán Ganno as Archbishop ( Metropolitan ) of the Iglesia Filipina Independente and held this office until he was replaced by Alberto Ramento in 1993. In this role he participated in the celebrations for the centenary of the Utrecht Union of Old Catholic Churches in 1990 .
