Titus Groan was a British four-piece progressive rock band named after a character by author Mervyn Peake .

Act

The guitarist and keyboardist Stewart Cowell, who also took over the vocal parts, and saxophonist / flutist / oboist Tony Priestland, who relatively determined the group sound with his brass instruments, released an album in 1970 with Jim Toomey on drums and John Lee on bass, but that too Showed problem of weak song material. A single with three songs was also released; the band soon broke up.

Toomey later played with The Tourists .

Movie

The band can be seen with the song Can't Find the Words to Say in the film Permissive (1970) by Lindsay Shonteff and can be heard on the accompanying soundtrack .
