Tjalling Bakker

Tjalling Bakker ( October 7, 1885 - April 18, 1962 ) was a Dutch lieutenant general in the Royal Dutch-Indian Army ( Koninklijk Nederlandsch-Indisch Leger ) .

Life

After attending school, Bakker completed military training and was employed by the Koninklijk Nederlandsch-Indisch Leger (KNIL) in the Dutch East Indies . After his promotion to lieutenant colonel (Luitenant-kolonel) on February 3, 1931, he became an officer in the General Staff of the KNIL and after his promotion to Colonel (Colonel) on February 22, 1933, he was initially commander of the 2nd regiment of the KNIL, before he was between October 1934 and June 11, 1935 was commander of the 6th regiment of the KNIL. His successor as commander of the 6th regiment was Colonel Rudolph Bakkers .
