Tobias Magirus
Tobias Magirus (born May 25, 1586 in Angermünde ; † January 6, 1652 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a German polyhistor .
Life
Magirus attended the schools in Stendal , Königsberg in the Neumark and Frankfurt an der Oder. In 1606 he went to the University of Frankfurt , where he obtained his master's degree in 1608 . He was in 1610 a teacher at the school Joachimsthal and vice-principal of the school, before a 1615 reputation as a professor followed the logic returns to the Frankfurt University. In 1625 he switched to the professorship of physics at the university. He remained in this office until his death.
The physician and mathematician Johannes Magirus was his son.
