Tobias Rötheli

Tobias Frank Rötheli (also Tobias F. Rötheli ; born March 26, 1958 ) is a Swiss economist and university professor .

Life

After the Lic. Rer. pole. - Completion of his studies in economics and law at the University of Bern in 1982, Rötheli initially worked as an assistant at the Economics Institute of the University of Bern under Jürg Niehans , before he worked there in 1986 with the work The National Income and International Capital Movements to Dr. rer. pole. received his doctorate.

Rötheli then worked as a research economist and scientific editor in the research department of the Swiss National Bank and was visiting researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis in 1987/88 , at Harvard University from 1988 to 1990 and at Stanford University in 1992/93 . The habilitation took place in 1994 with the thesis Monetary Regimes, Risk, and International Capital Accumulation , also in Bern. Rötheli then worked as a private lecturer at the University of Bern.

In 2000 Tobias Rötheli accepted the chair for macroeconomics at the political science faculty at the University of Erfurt .

Research priorities

Rötheli deals, among other things, with money and currency theory , banks and financial markets . The limited rationality of economic actors as well as models of human expectation and banking behavior are central areas.
