Tobias Stockhoff

Tobias Stockhoff (* 1981 in Dorsten ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been the full-time mayor of his hometown since 2014 .

Life

Education and professional career

After graduating from high school in Petrinum in 2001, Stockhoff began studying physics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University (WWU) in Münster , which he graduated in 2007 with a degree in physics. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Materials Physics at WWU until 2012. From 2012 to 2014 he worked as a freelance graduate physicist.

Political career

In 1998 Stockhoff joined the Junge Union (JU). From 2001 to 2006 he was chairman of the JU-Stadtverband Dorsten, from 2006 to 2010 chairman of the JU-Kreisverband Recklinghausen. In 1999 he joined the CDU. From 2001 to 2007 he was chairman of the CDU local association Wulfen / Deuten, from 2007 to 2014 chairman of the CDU city association Dorsten. In 2004 Stockhoff was elected to the council of the city of Dorsten, of which he was a member until he moved to the mayor's office. Since 2009 he has been chairman of the economic committee and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group .

Mayor's office

After the previous mayor Lambert Lütkenhorst announced that he would no longer stand for mayoral election in 2014, Stockhoff was nominated as a candidate by the CDU at the beginning of 2014.

In the election, Stockhoff narrowly missed the necessary absolute majority in the first ballot with 49.3% of the votes. In the runoff election against the SPD candidate, Michael Baune, Stockhoff received 61.6% of the vote and was thus elected mayor as the successor to Lütkenhorst.

In January 2020, Stockhoff was re-elected as a candidate for mayor by the Dorsten CDU for the local elections in September .

Other voluntary activities

Stockhoff has been active in the technical relief organization since 2000 , including a. as a train driver , specialist advisor and trainer. Since 2009 he has been a member of the parish council and an advisory member of the church council of his home parish. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Church Tax Council of the North Rhine-Westphalian part of the diocese of Münster . Since 2014 he has been chairman of the board of the Dorstener Kinder- und Jugendferienstiftung; since 2015 member of the board of trustees of the Dorstener St. Ursula Schools Foundation in an advisory capacity . Stockhoff is a volunteer registrar for the city of Dorsten. Furthermore, Stockhoff is the founding chairman of the association "Dorsten thanks you", founded in 2017

Private

Stockhoff is single. He is Roman Catholic and lives in the Dorsten district of Wulfen .
