Tobias Wegener

Tobias "Tobi" Wegener (born April 13, 1993 in Velbert ) is a German reality TV participant and influencer . He gained fame through his participation in the TV formats Love Island (2018), Celebrity Big Brother (2019) and Celebrities Under Palms (2020).

Life

Tobias Wegener comes from Velbert in the Niederbergisches Land , where he grew up with three younger siblings with his single mother. From the age of 12 he regularly helped out in his aunt's shop, where he cleared shelves and contributed to the family's livelihood with the money he earned. He is a trained painter and varnisher .

Wegener gained media fame through his participation as a candidate in the 2nd season of the dating reality show Love Island , which was broadcast on RTL II in September / October 2018 . Wegener was discovered because of his Instagram profile for the show and invited as a candidate. In a short time he became a “crowd favorite” at Love Island and reached 2nd place with his partner Natascha Beil in the final of the show. Because of its ability to give his fellow contestants love advice he received from presenter Jana Ina Zarrella the nickname "Dr. Love ". In October 2018, the couple announced their split.

Wegener, who worked in his learned profession until shortly after the end of Love Island , has since made a name for himself as an influencer. In 2018 he was a replacement candidate for Bastian Yotta for participation in I am a star - get me out of here! in conversation.

In August 2019 he took part in the 7th season of the TV show Promi Big Brother , where he was marketed by Sat.1 as "Womanizer with a heart" and reached 3rd place. His “Big Brother” flirtation with amateur actress and fellow candidate Janine Pink was featured in the media by the tabloids and various magazines . From March to April 2020, Wegener took part in the SAT.1 reality show Promis unter Palmen , where he took 4th place in the final.

Wegener lives in Velbert.
