Tōbu Tetsudō KK ( Japanese 東 武 鉄 道 株式会社 , Tōbu tetsudō kabushiki kaisha , English Tobu Railway Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese railway company that is listed in the Nikkei 225 . Your route network in the Kantō region is, apart from the formerly state-owned Japan Railway , the second longest in Japan after the Kinki Nippon Tetsudō .

Tōbu Tetsudō is part of the Tōbu Group, which includes department stores ( Depāto ), bus and taxi companies, as well as companies in the residential construction, real estate and leisure industries. The name Tōbu is made up of the Kanji for East ( ) and Musashi ( ).

The railway company also operates the Tōbu Dōbutsu Kōen ( 東 武 動物 公園 , "Tōbu Animal Park") in Miyashiro and Shiraoka in Saitama Prefecture with the Regina wooden roller coaster and the Kawasemi steel roller coaster .

The route network of the Tōbu Tetsudō has a total length of 463.3 km and is divided into two separate areas. The main network consists of the main line emanating from Asakusa and its branches, which serve the suburbs of Tokyo in the north and east. A second line network runs from Ikebukuro northwest to Saitama Prefecture . The Chichibu Tetsudō runs between the two networks , on whose rails the trains of the Tōbu Tetsudō are transferred.
