Tod A. Maitland (* 1957 in New York City , New York ) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Maitland began his career in the late 1970s. He made his film debut with you in a big city by John G. Avildsen . He then worked as a sound assistant for a few years before becoming sound engineer in the mid-1980s. Between 1988 and 2012 Maitland worked on six Oliver Stone films , starting with Talk Radio and finally with Savages . He also worked on five M. Night Shyamalan films between 2002 and 2016 , including Signs and The Village .

1990 Maitland was for Born on July 4, the first time for the Oscar in the category Best Sound nominated in 1992 was followed by the second nomination in this category for JFK - Tatort Dallas . For this film he was awarded the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Sound in 1993. The third nomination for an Oscar came in 2004 for Seabiscuit - With the Will to Success .
