Todd Roger Boonstra (born May 29, 1962 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is a retired American cross-country skier .

Boonstra celebrated his first success at the 1983 NCAA championship when he finished third over 15 kilometers. A year later he qualified for the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . In the competition over 15 kilometers he reached rank 54. Four years later, at the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 , he was able to improve over 15 kilometers by one place. In the relay competition he was with his teammates Dan Simoneau , Bill Spencer and Joe Galanes 13th. His third Winter Olympics was Boonstra in 1994 in Lillehammer . In the races over 10 and 50 kilometers he reached the positions 41 and 39. In the pursuit race he was also 41. He finished the season together with John Aalberg , Ben Husaby and Luke Bodensteiner in 13th place.

Boonstra attended the University of Vermont and graduated in 1986. He lives in Alaska and moves to Ninilchik in summer and Galena in winter . He works as a teacher and ski instructor. He also competes in master’s competitions and has already won the Mount Marathon ski race four times .
