biography

Todd Duffee during training

Duffee was born in Evansville and grew up in Eldorado ( Illinois on). He was trained by Caleb Goldman.

Duffee started boxing when he was sixteen. The training was initially unprofessional, badly organized and there was a lack of good training partners. He arrived in Atlanta ( Georgia moved), he appeared in a real boxing gym. After hearing about mixed martial arts, Duffee started watching old UFC fights. A few days later he was training in a local MMA gym.

Duffee won his first three fights against Mike Walbright, Mark Haniger and Josh Bennett. He then agreed to in the main event of Jungle Fights 11 against the UFC and Pride FC veterans Assuerio Silva fight. He dominated this fight and won by knockout in the second round.

Duffee was seeded to make his UFC debut against Mostapha Al Turk at UFC 99 until the UFC dropped that fight to let him play against Mirko Filipović . Next, it was announced that he would face Mike Russow until he was withdrawn from that match to face Tim Hague .

In the undercard, he fought against Hague at UFC 102. In that fight, Duffee set the new UFC record for fastest knockout after knocking out Hague with the first punch after just seven seconds. After the victory he celebrated and said into the camera: "That was a starter, now I want to eat Dana , let me eat!"

Todd Duffee was supposed to face Paul Buentello at UFC 107 , but had to retire because he injured his back.

Duffee was accepted into the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and is currently looking for a new training stable. He looked at Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts and Wand Fight Team , then decided on the former.

At UFC 114 in May 2010, Duffee was supposed to play against Mike Russow. This defeated him in the third round by knockout.

In September 2010, Duffee was fired by UFC chief Dana White for his behavior outside the ring / octagon . He then denied a K-1 fight against Alistair Overeem , where he went KO. In 2011 he was seen in a supporting role in the martial arts film The Fighters 2: The Beatdown .
