Death Poker (Original Title: Terminal Choice ) is a Canadian medical thriller directed by Sheldon Larry from 1985.
action
The American Dodson Clinic is largely automated. Personnel and doctors are only required for operations. Computers regulate and monitor patients' vital processes. Hospital staff place bets on patients' diagnoses and how long they will have to live.
As a patient of Dr. Frank Holt dies under mysterious circumstances and further deaths occur, the doctor sets out to find the causes. His former lover, Anna, and the hospital attorney are asked to help investigate the cases.
criticism
The lexicon of international films said that the film was a “bizarre shocker with an absurd story and defamatory doctor clichés, which, in the search for effects that turned out to be quite exciting, subverted some taste lapses”.
