Todor Dinow

Todor Dinow Georgiev (also written Todor Dinov Georgiev , Bulgarian Тодор Динов Георгиев ; born July 24, 1919 in Dedeağaç , Kingdom of Greece ; † June 16, 2004 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian artist, painter and animator. Dinov is considered the father of Bulgarian animation.

Between 1938 and 1943 Dinow studied stage design at the Art School in Sofia and between 1947 and 1951 animation at the Gerasimov Institute for Cinematography in Moscow , among others with Ivan Ivanov-Wano .

In 1999 Dinow was awarded the “Stara Planina” medal.
