Toledo is the southernmost district (District) in Belize ( Central America ) and has around 28,000 inhabitants on an area of 4413 km² (2006 calculation) .
The district capital of Toledo is Punta Gorda .
Toledo is home to the historic Mayan ruins of Lubaantun , Nim Li Punit and Uxbenka . Other places in Toledo are: San Antonio (largest settlement of the Mopan Maya ), Monkey River Town, Toledo Settlement and the villages of San Pedro Columbia and Silver Creek.
