Tom-Niclas Alte (born January 27, 1995 in Karlsruhe ) is a German basketball player . The 2.07 meter tall indoor player has been part of the squad of the second division Uni Baskets Paderborn since July 2020 .

Player career

Alte learned to play basketball in the Durlach gymnastics club, having previously played football for ASV Durlach . The next stations in his basketball career were SSC Karlsruhe and KIT SC. In 2013, Alte moved to TV Langen at the part-time basketball boarding school and was used for the "giraffes" in the third-class 2nd Bundesliga ProB and in the youth basketball Bundesliga . After his second season in Langen, he was recognized by the basketball portal eurobasket.com as the ProB player who had the best development in the course of the 2014/15 season. In 2015, Alte signed with ratiopharm Ulm . In addition to six short appearances in the basketball league , he mainly played in the ProB in the Ulm junior team Weißenhorn Youngstars . In July 2016 he received a two-year contract from the Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig . In September 2016, the Braunschweig Association announced that Alte was diagnosed with pubic bone inflammation as part of medical examinations. Therefore the contract was initially suspended. He got to the end of the game year 2017/18 for Braunschweig in 24 Bundesliga games on the field, but could not substitute players while at the Dukes Wolfenbüttel , the partner organization of the basketball lion, a performer in the 2. Bundesliga ProB was what he particularly demonstrated during the 2017/18 season when he averaged 12.4 points and eight rebounds per encounter.

In July 2018, Alte was signed by ProA newcomer Rostock Seawolves and became a top performer for Mecklenburg, for whom he scored an average of 8.8 points per match in the 2018/19 season. After two years with the Mecklenburgers, he accepted an offer from East Westphalia in the summer of 2020 and went to Uni Baskets Paderborn .
