Thomas "Tom" Vieth (born April 19, 1960 in Nottuln ; † September 23, 2018 in Münster ) was a German blues musician , singer and guitarist.

Musical career

Tom Vieth has been musically active since 1981 and has played with various blues greats from the USA in his musician career ; he has appeared on stage with John Primer , Eddie Shaw , Johnny Heartsman , Eddie C. Campbell , Rockin 'Johnny Burgin , Eddie Taylor Jr. , Jeanne Carroll and Sunnyland Slim , among others .

Until 2015, Vieth regularly changed the musicians with whom he appeared on stage or recorded his albums and performed mainly as Tom Vieth & Friends or as a guest musician. One of the early lineups of the Tom Vieth Blues Band included a. Kai Strauss and Erkan Özdemir. In the last few years, Vieth appeared again with a permanent cast as the Tom Vieth Blues Band and took part in the German Blues Challenge in Eutin . Tom Vieth died on September 23, 2018 in Münster of complications from a kidney disease.
