Tomasz Kaluzny

Tomasz Kaluzny (* 1965 in Poznań , Poland ) is a Polish opera, operetta and lied singer with a baritone voice .

Life and artistic work

Tomasz Kaluzny studied singing at the Music Academy in Poznan with Marian Kouba . He completed his training at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Hanno Blaschke , Peter Kertz and Helmut Deutsch . He also took master classes with Edith Mathis , Sena Jurinac and Jan-Hendrik Rootering .

After his vocal training, engagements and guest performances at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, at the Polish National Philharmonic in Warsaw, at the Theater Pforzheim and Theater Regensburg as well as the Margravial Opera House followed . The baritone also performed at the Hersfeld Festival, the Richard-Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Tokyo and Cape Town.

Since the 2006/2007 season he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Ulm . There he sang Ottone ( The Coronation of Poppea ), Fürst Ottokar ( Der Freischütz ), Baron Weps ( The Bird Trader ), Geronio ( Il turco in Italia ), Marullo ( Rigoletto ), Richter Turpin ( Sweeny Todd ), Bonafede ( Il mondo della luna ), Papageno ( The Magic Flute ) and the title role in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin .

As a lieder singer, he went on concert tours to Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, France and the Netherlands. At the MúsicaMallorca Festival in Palma he made guest appearances in 2005, 2006 and 2008, most recently with the Berliner Symphoniker and with arias by Bellini, Verdi, Rossini and Puccini at Viva L'Opera: Homenaje a Maria Callas.
