Tomasz Łubieński (Author)
Tomasz Łubieński , pseudonym Borygo Jańczak (born April 18, 1938 in Warsaw ) is a Polish historian , publicist , literary critic and writer .
Life
Tomasz Łubieński comes from a bourgeois family, his uncle Michał Tomasz Łubieński was the head of the office of Polish Foreign Minister Józef Beck when Germany started World War II in 1939 with the attack on Poland.
Łubieński studied history and Polish studies at the University of Warsaw . From 1971 until she was hired in 1981 he was editor of the magazine “Kultura”. After the political change in Poland, he became editor-in-chief of the monthly Nowe Książki ("New Books") in 1998 . Łubieński is a member of the Polish authors' association Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich (SPP).
Among his numerous publications, his cultural and historical criticism of the Polish tradition of uprisings was controversial: “Bić się czy nie bić” (“To fight or not to fight”, 1976). His work 1939 - zaczęlo się we wrześniu on the outbreak of World War II is also based on unpublished documents from his family.
