Tomatin ( Gaelic Tom Aitinn ) is a village in the Scottish Council Area Highland . Tomatin is located on the Findhorn about 22 km southeast of Inverness and west of Grantown-on-Spey . Tomatin is connected to the trunk road network via the A9 , which runs a few hundred meters to the east and connects Edinburgh with Thurso . The Highland Main Line affects the village, but the station has been abandoned.
With the Tomatin whiskey distillery of the same name , the former largest malt whiskey distillery is located in Tomatin.
