Microgadus is a genus of fish from the cod family(Gadidae). Their representatives live in the Nearctic , especially in the northern Pacific and northern Atlantic in coastal waters of the North American east and west coast. The name of the genus is made up of Latin micro ( German small ) and gadus (German cod ), thus means literally small cod ( English tomcods ).

- Microgadus proximus ( Girard , 1854) (Pacific Tomcod)
- Microgadus tomcod ( Walbaum , 1792) (Atlantic tomcod)
