Tondibiah (also Tondibia ) is a military camp near the village of the same name Tondibiah in the city of Niamey in Niger . It is the seat of a training center for the Niger armed forces .

The camp was established in what was then the French colony of Niger by an ordinance of the Governor General of French West Africa Léon Cayla of November 25, 1939, which came into force on January 1, 1940. The ordinance designated Tondibiah as the seat of the local physical education and military preparation committee of western Niger. At the same time, such a committee was set up for East Niger in Mirriah . Both training centers were aimed at young people who, due to lack of economic prospects, were to be won over for a career in the French armed forces .

The Nigerien armed forces took over Tondibiah as their training center after the country gained independence from France in 1960. The center in Mirriah was closed for financial reasons shortly after independence. In 1985 a second training center was created in Agadez , which was converted into a military school especially for NCOs in 2003 .
