Toni Burkhardt

Toni Burkhardt (* 1979 in Neuhaus am Rennweg , Germany ) is a German theater director and at home in the field of music theater .

Burkhardt has been the opera director at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin since the 2016/17 season .

Career

After graduating from high school, Burkhardt studied media studies and German at the University of Fine Arts and the Technical University in Braunschweig . During his studies, Burkhardt worked in various fields for the Braunschweig State Theater . In 2003, Burkhardt co-founded the short film festival went nuts 24 .

After completing his studies, Burkhardt worked at the Nordhausen Theater as an assistant director , prompter and stage manager and later became director of the theater and subsequently senior director.

After Lars Tietje, then director of Nordhausen, moved to the Mecklenburg State Theater , Burkhardt became the opera director of the Mecklenburg State Theater in 2016. There he staged Puccini's opera Tosca (2018) and the musical Anatevka with Gustav Peter Wöhler in the main role of Tevje (2019) for the Schwerin Castle Festival .
